Laughter filled the room as it was told.
Almost everyone thought it was pure gold.
Except for the one who was offended.
While everyone thought it was, he didn’t find it splendid.
No need to be mad at something that was spoken for laughter.
If everyone were offended at jokes like these, there would be no happiness in this disaster.
Stop taking things so serious and have some fun.
Laugh with the rest and smile as bright as the sun.

You capture a serious issue nicely in the poem. Who of us hasn’t been caught laughing along…sometimes from shock not humor.
